Some of these projects involved a site visit looking at the current provision of induction loop systems at the reception desks and throughout the building.  Others had a written quote sent by email after a telephone consultation.  Reports and quotations were emailed outlining equipment and costings to comply with DDA and equality at work act 2010.  Once an order had been received appointments were made at the different work areas. Throughout the project all necessary staff were kept up to date with the progress of work to be done.  We ensured that work took place at that time without putting people at risk, and relevant signage was displayed. We ensured staff were present for the demonstration and questions.  The Accessibility Disability Officer or Surgery Manager has been provided with consultant’s mobile number should any further information be required.

Introduction
When a reception desk induction loop system is installed, people who are hearing impaired can use the hearing aid set to the 'T' position. The telecoil in the hearing aid picks up the magnetic waves produced by the loop system. A direct copy of the audio signal reaching the microphone is now 'induced' in this coil and the hearing aid converts this electrical signal back to audible sound for the wearer to hear. In this way, someone at the reception desk can clearly hear the receptionist - simply by being close to the desk.
